Founded in 1975, ASID is the oldest, largest and only multi-disciplinary professional organization for interior designers, interior design students and the manufacturers and suppliers who support the profession.
IDS was initially founded in 1973 by the National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) with a goal of supporting interior designers working in furniture stores. IDS has long since elevated and expanded its focus to provide support to professional interior design entrepreneurs nationwide.
IIDA was founded in 1994 as the result of a merger of the Institute of Business Designers (IBD); the International Society of Interior Designers (ISID); and the Council of Federal Interior Designers (CFID). The goal of the merger was to create an international association with a united mission that would represent interior designers worldwide.
This competition is open to graduate and undergraduate students around the world who are currently enrolled in an interior design or architecture program. Entrants must currently be enrolled at the time of submission.
NKBA Student Members may enter the kitchen competition, the bath competition, or both. Their designs must be based on the client requests and plans provided.
The 11th Annual Steelcase NEXT Student Design Competition will be a workplace environment of approximately 11.000 SF intended to support the changing work behaviors and expectations of the workplace.
Students must execute a dynamic, creative, cutting edge design utilizing the very best products and technologies which encompass sustainable topics such as: site selection, water efficiency, energy conservation, products/materials, and indoor environmental quality.
