Loan Policies

♦   Books may be borrowed by any current New England Institute of Technology [NEIT] student, faculty, staff member, or NEIT graduate.

♦   Loan period is 3 weeks. Books can be renewed two additional times unless requested by another patron. Renew books in one of three ways: 1) in person, 2) by telephone [739-5000, ext. 3409], or 3) online -- log into your Library Account with your Student ID as your Library Card Number and your PIN, which is the last four digits from your student ID number. If you have difficulty with your log in, ask the circulation desk staff to assist you (401-739-5000 x3409).

♦   Books for loan are limited to the circulating collections (Low Stacks, Tall Stacks and Oversize). There is a limit of 5 books per topic area and 10 books total.

♦   Periodicals and media do not circulate to students.  All non-circulating materials are limited to in-house use only.

♦   Interlibrary loan (ILL) is available to the entire NEIT community for materials not owned by the Library. There is a limit of 10 books that can be borrowed at a time. Contact the Reference Librarians [x3472] or fill out the Interlibrary Loan form.

♦ The NEIT Library loans materials to patrons of other libraries through our interlibrary loan agreements in-state through the Library of Rhode Island Network (LORI) and nationally/internationally through OCLC. Items from our collection available through interlibrary loan do not include non-circulating items such as books from the Reference collection, periodicals, newspapers, and media, or books placed on Reserve.  If you are not a member of the NEIT community, you must contact the interlibrary loan department of your college, university, or public library to submit a request.   Interlibrary Loan service (ILL) is governed by the Library of Rhode Island Standards and Regulations.

♦   The Library is open to the public. All materials are limited to in-house use only.
