Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
If the Library does not own the materials that you need, we can obtain them through Interlibrary Loan. It usually takes several days to two weeks to receive the articles or books ordered.
The online form (below) is for requesting both books and articles and can be filled out and submitted automatically. Interlibrary loan request forms are also available in print form at the Reference Desk in the Library. When using any available format, please provide as much information as possible to speed up the process of locating the correct materials.
The Library is a member of the Library of Rhode Island Network (LORI) and OCLC which allow us access to local, regional, national, and international interlibrary loan programs. As a member of those consortia, the NEIT Library loans materials to patrons of other libraries through those interlibrary loan agreements. Items available through interlibrary loan do not include non-circulating items such as books from the Reference collection, periodicals, newspapers, and media, or books placed on Reserve. If you are not a member of the NEIT community, you must contact the interlibrary loan department of your college, university, or public library to submit a request. Interlibrary Loan service (ILL) is governed by the Library of Rhode Island Standards and Regulations.
