Library
Words and Terms
Like
any specialty, there are numerous words and terms that are used
in libraries. Often those involved with a specialty, whether
it be baking or brain surgery, are so familiar with their specialized
terminology that they take it for granted that others know those
words. Currently, library words and terms mingle with words
from and about computers.
For
words and terms pertaining to libraries, see: ODLIS:
Online Dictionary for Library and Information Science
by Joan M. Reitz, Associate Librarian for Instruction at the
Ruth A. Haas Library, Western Connecticut State University (WCSU)
in Danbury, CT.
