Use of the Library and Resources: Since the NEIT
Library collection and services are developed for
the support of NEIT students, faculty and staff, few
juvenile materials will be found here. For their safety
and well being, children must be accompanied at all
times by a parent or adult. Children must never be
left unsupervised. Children under the age of 18 who
are unaccompanied by an adult will be referred to
Campus Security. Parents, not the Library, are responsible
for children's use of the Library, including access
to electronic resources and the Internet.
BOOKS: The book collection contains a
wide variety of materials for technical and liberal arts
courses, as well as current popular fiction and non-fiction
titles.
ELECTRONIC RESOURCES: Electronic
resources include the online catalog; indexes, abstracts,
and full-text periodicals; Internet access (all of which
can be accessed from any computer with Internet access);
encyclopedias; dictionaries; and a wide variety of reference
tools. The
Library's comprehensive website includes evaluated Internet
resources on topics specific to the technologies as well
as general interest subjects.
LIBRARY CATALOG: The Library
catalog is a database of the Library's holdings including

REFERENCE: The Reference Collection
is located on the second floor of the Library and includes

codes, directories, etc. used mostly for consultation
rather than cover-to-cover reading. Reference books cannot
be checked out of the Library.

trade journals, newsletters, and newspapers. Some of the
periodicals are general and can be used for research in
non-technical subjects, and others apply directly to the

periodicals are available online through databases the
Library subscribes to -- see Online
Databases above.

videocassettes, CDs, cassettes, etc., are listed in the
Library Catalog. Students must use media in the Library.
Faculty may borrow media for use in class.

copies of materials on reserve for
their courses. Faculty may contact the Circulation Desk (739-5000,

Technical textbooks are not automatically
placed on reserve.

at the Reference Desk or online. The online forms are available
electronically in HTML and .pdf formats: (HTML: books

TECHARTS
TechArts
is an event to showcase the visual artwork of students, faculty
and staff of NEIT that has been created either for classes,
professional or hobby.
The event's roots go back to 1995, and is now considered an
annual event. The library maintains a permanent collection
that derives from TechArts.
