Mission Statement
The NEIT Library seeks to provide an organized, balanced, and varied collection to support the goals of the institution. By providing a wide range of materials, the Library attempts to furnish a broad foundation for research for an undergraduate technical education. Through various means of instruction, the Library teaches the information literacy skills necessary to support lifelong learning for personal and professional growth. The NEIT Library seeks to provide access to resources in other libraries through cooperative agreements.

Library Objectives:

1. Provide organized, readily accessible, and relevant collections that serve the research, professional and personal growth needs of the college community. (Collections include books, periodicals in all formats, media, databases, and web resources.)

2. Teach research and information literacy skills through reference services, including bibliographic instruction, individual assistance, online reference, telephone assistance, and tours.

3. Provide print and web-based instructional materials that teach skills and describe Library resources and services.

4. Help library users develop skills for lifelong learning by increasing awareness of library resources and services.

5. Provide trained and knowledgeable staff to support the teaching and resource management functions of the Library.

6. Provide quiet study areas, group work areas, and media use facilities that are clean, safe, well-maintained and have an atmosphere that encourages research and study.

7. Provide media and computer equipment that are current and properly maintained.

8. Share resources with people outside of the NEIT community, including members of the Rhode Island Interrelated Library Network (RHILINET), OCLC (Online Computer Library Center), Consortium of Rhode Island Academic and Research Libraries (CRIARL) and the general public.
